 "My Mom sang on radio stations in the Rockford
area of Chicago, Ill", so Jill's interest began early. Her Mom also
sang with the Jan Garber Orchestra at the Aragon Ballroom, so the
degree of professionalism Jill was exposed to early in life made
her even more determined to try her hand at show business. She soon
sang in Church, school musicals and even sang at the Blair School
of Music at Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tenn. Jill was hooked
and she had talent.
My
name is Mike Dukes. I got a call to met with
Ron and Jill Crawley down in in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. We
met in a small recreation center. We talked, we played some songs,
and talked some more. Ron was a good musician and seemed to have
his business head on real straight. Jill had an incredible voice.
She became my favorite singer of all time the moment I heard her
sing.

and and I formed a show band called the "Down Home Show".
A few weeks later I called Jerry Penrod and Patty Stephens in from
Phoenix, Az. and later keyboardist Marvin Stephens
rounded out the band. After about two years, fueled by Jill's
talented voice, and the dedicated talented band, we changed our name
to "Nashville
Impact".
We toured successfully for ten wonderful years. "Just like
family," says Jill. "I love them all today just like relatives,
we did everything together. Traveled, rehearsed 9 hours every week
and performed 5 forty minute shows every night, 6 night a week, week
after week after week." We got to see America. The Nashville
Impact band was one of the
best and most popular show bands in a great era of show band type
entertainment.
Jill again, "After we kind of went our separate ways I traveled to South
Korea and Japan to entertain the troops. When I came home I moved
to Atlanta and sang with my friend Steve Ward as the
duo, "Double
Take". " Our most recent musical release "Jill Sings" is on sale now. order CD
Eight years later I began to sing for Seniors
and I have been hooked on that since. Jill says, "There
is no greater reward. I thank God everyday for the talent he gave
me to sing for an audience that is so appreciative." |
